在天津人民出版社出版2006年6月第3版《非常讲解·八年级英语教材全解全析·上》p.97 上，有这样一道单项选择题：“20. They  two  helped ____ and  got  to  the  top  of  the  mountain  in  the  end . A. both  B. each  other  C. one  another  D. him”

该书p.100所给的答案与提示是：20.选B。 The  two 表示他们两个，each  other 指两者之间的“相互”；one  another通常指三者以上之间的“相互”。

笔者认为, 根据以下有关each  other和one  another的用法说明和例句，B和C都可以作为这道题的正确答案：

（1）在英国麦克米伦出版公司（Macmillan  Publishers  Limited）2003年出版的Macmillan Essential Dictionary for Learners of English中，有这样一个词条：one  another  pronoun  used  for  saying  that  each  of  two  or  more  people  does  the  same  thing  to  the  other, or  has  the  same  relationship  with  the  other = EACH  OTHER：They  all  shook  hands  with  one  another.

（2）在2003年出版的LONGMAN Dictionary of Contemporary English，NEW  EDITION（英语版）p.1148有以下例句： “Liz  and  I  have  known  one  another  for  years.” 这里的one  another表示两者之间的“相互”。

（3）英国著名的语言学家Michael  Swan 认为each  other和one  another“没有区别”。他在《英语用法指南》第二版中指出：

“在现代英语里，人们通常大都把each  other和one  another 同样使用。当我们非常笼统地谈，而不特指什么人时，喜欢用one  another（像one一样）。试比较：

They  sat  for  two  hours  without  talking  to  each  other / one  another .

他们坐了两个钟头，彼此没说一句话。

The  translation  of  se  parler  is  to  talk  to  one  another.

结论：each  other 和one  another都可以表示两者或多于两者之间的“相互”。
